Årdal library has many digital services. Here you will get an overview of some of them, some have user guidance.

BookBites

You can easily borrow e-books from the libraries in Vestland(Western Norway). All you need is the BookBites app, library card and pin code. There you will receive access to several thousand e-books, this is available regardless of what municipality you live in. It is free to borrow books from the BookBites app!

How do I start?

  • You need an e-mail address and a library card. Inquire at your local library if you don't have a library card.
  • Download the Bookbites app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Create an account using your e-mail and a password, or through Google or Facebook.
  • Log in with you library card account number and pin code from the library.
  • Find e-books or digital audiobooks, download and read/listen.

Pressreader

The ‘Pressreader’ app is available to all registered library users and allows people to use a computer, tablet or smart phone to access publications from 100 countries and in 60 different languages free of charge. All you need to do is be connected with the libraries wifi. Read instantly, or download for later.

Among its 7,000 publications are UK newspapers including The Guardian, Daily Mail, Independent and the Daily Telegraph.

There is also an extensive range of magazines ranging from the latest edition of Vogue and Empire magazine, to Newsweek, Gardeners’ World Magazine and this week’s TV Times.

It also instantly translates articles in up to 16 languages
