Library card
Everyone in Årdal who begins in the first grade will receive a library card.
The library card can be used at Årdal library, at the primary and secondary schools and at Årdal college. The card can be used at most other libraries in Norway and later if you go on to college or university.
Adults receive their first national library card without any costs.
If the card is lost you will have to pay a fee of 65 kr if you would require a new card.
Digital national library card.
The national library has launched together with Bibliotek-systemer As a digital national library card.
This is a fully-fledged national library card. Users who do not already own a national library card can acquire one by registering themselves on
nb.bib.no. <---- Click her to be a user. This service requires you to identify yourself by using ID-Porten (MiniID, BankID).
As a digital national user you will have access to the national library services for example Filmbib.
Borrowing and delivering in Årdalstangen
Every tuesday there is a delivery transport to Årdalstangen.
You can request delivery of books and other things via email bibliotek@ardal.kommune.no or ring 46915647. You can message us all week. If you want it to arrive with the next delivery you need to request before 10 o'clock at the latest on the delivery day otherwise it will not turn up until the week after.
You pick up your order at the reception in the town hall.
You can deliver the books back by placing them in the book return box located next to the reception in the town hall.

Claim compensation for lost/damaged book = Cost of book + 175 kr fee
After you receive the 3rd reminder the charges will be paid even if the lost/damaged item is returned.
The user account will be blocked if the charges are not paid.
The account will open up again when you pay the charges.
Get in contact as soon as possible if something is incorrect when you receive a reminder letter or it will go on to be a compensation claim.
